We have your ideal clipper and the advice to help you choose. Like most electrical equipment, clipper technology has seen improvements in both speed weight and noise levels. Traditionally horse clippers have been heavy, loud and relatively slow, due mainly to the large heavy duty motor used. With improvements in technology it is now possible to have a much smaller clipper that packs a big punch.
The Laube Lazor and Cowboy clippers are around half the size and weight of a traditional horse clipper and have the capability to run at a higher speed if required. The Lazor clipper is also equipped with LED's that are directed onto the edge of blade, great for clipping in low light situations. The Cowboy clipper differs in that the clipper blade is at a traditional horse clipping angle (in line with the body of the clipper), however, I personally prefer the blade angle of the Lazor clipper as I find it easier to use and less restrictive when clipping areas such as the shoulder.
The blades should also be easier to use, provided they are not treated like traditional clipper blades. The blades are pre-tensioned and are designed to be fairly maintenance free, with no tensioning needed and the blade being used as a single piece rather than two individual blades. This allows the blade to be oiled, snapped onto the clipper and used immediately with no further setup. We have put together some frequently asked questions to help get the best from your clipper. |
